I was looking for an air terminal for protecting a house and suggested this brand Lightning rods, lightning protection systems / INDELEC but is so expensive. What so special about these? Why not using just a simple nice clean copper or stainless steel rod as an air terminal?

The cost of the head only of that brand is 1000 euros plus 500 the other materials(lighting conductor, ground rods, connection etc). That is 1500 only the materials.
What are your thoughts on this?

This is a radioactive ionisation head your talking about, normally used for single point commercial building lightning protection. Just how big is your house?? lol!! Just use the conventional system of LP on a house installation, you will probably only need a couple of conventional air termination spikes and a couple of down conductor earthing points. Just depends on the roof design/layout as to what you need.

If you need to have a design approved before installation, contact FURSE, who will generally design the system for you according to the country your living in codes/requirements

Re: Lightning air terminal cost

So it means with the ionisation head will need less rods to cover a certain area?
Is for a house i need it.The area i need to cover for protection is 1500m² or 16000ft²

The FURSE website is not working right now.I will try later.
I will need some guide so i can learn more on the subject. Can you recommend any book or regulations?

Furse produce one, but you'll find nothing in there for ionisation heads, it takes business away from their all copper systems.... lol!!

A 1500 square metre house, that's not a house, that's a fair sized Mansion!! I have a largish 190m2 house plus an attached garage, which means you could get 7 1/2 of my houses into your one house!! lol!!! Your going to need a lot more than a couple of air terminals, as well as down conductors, which are normally spaced every 10m around the protected building. That is a one BIG building for a house!!!

Is this the house with a generator and PV array?

If you or your customer can afford this house then paying for a consultant shouldn't be a probem. Why are you asking a bunch of random guy's on the net for specialist information?

The house included the plot is 1500sqm. There are lights ,sockets around the plot so i need to cover that also. For the story few weeks ago a lightning strike one outdoor post light in the garden and we got 20k euros damage.Cameras, computers, led lighting, basic all electronics that cannot handle high voltage are dead.

No it is another house.
The reason iam asking is for learning and educate myself.I think we always need to continue learning. Especially if is something we love doing. That is why i asked for book suggestion or regulations on the matter. Knowledge never ends.I already learn few things by reading a book on the net but need for informations on regulations.

ps.I installed one few years ago but that doesnt make me a specialist.I was just an
employee and did what i was told with out knowing why.Now iam asking why.

That is most interesting. I've sat transfixed and watched the same (scaled-up!) process being used to join two sections of rail-head together...
