Hi guys,
Just wanted some advice on this.
I have a CSU at home with RCD in protecting ring main and boiler immersion socket.
What i want to do is change the pull cord in my bathroom, but that circuit is not protected by RCD, just a MCB. (BS3871)
If i change the pull cord, does that lighting circuit have to be then RCD protected?
(its a grey area to me because im changing like for like in a special location, not installing a new circuit etc)
Just wanted to know how i stand on this>?
Im guessing if the answer is, then yes, you do need to protect that circuit with RCD protection, then i could either put a new rcd 1 way board in just protecting this circuit, or try and retrofit a RCBO in the board?
I thought if just putting in a new B6 MCB BS3871 on the rcd side, there is room! but the busbar has been cut and cant seem to find a re-placement busbar etc.
Thanks Guys!
Lee.
