hi guys is it true that when doing a eicr lighting circuits that are not rcd protected now have to be a code 2 ?

thanks its just because i done a eicr the other day and was told by my nappit mate that where before it would be a code 3 it is now code 2 and the test had failed

I suppose I might give it a C2 (or even a C1) if the cables were run at a depth of less than 50mm in an area marked, "Nail gun testing area: all nail gun testers must ensure they are holding the supplied extraneous-conductive part with one hand and the nail gun with the other when testing the nail gun."

Maybe NAPPIT's own rules/regs?

I'm with NAPIT and am not aware of them saying this, and I normally scan through any emails they send out. I would ignore that kind of 'guidance' anyway if they did.
