Hi, just a quick question.

Went to look at a job for a customer yesterday installing ELV decking lights. Small IP rated DB supplying hottub under the decking so coming off of that (you can stand under the decking, it's on the side of a large drop!). Decking lights are to be controled by an electronic sensor that they've supplyed, and so will rarely need switching off.

My question is, do i need a MECHANICAL form of isolation other than the MCB? or will the MCB suffice? Something in my mind tells me I will need this extra switch.

Cheers in advance

what is the electronic sensor? Some may argue that this may need to be isolated in case of maintenance. I would say that as the MCB is accessible and that there should be the facility to put a lock off device on it that will act as a suitable isolator.
