lighting lack of CPC

Anyone else fed up of no CPC in lighting circuits? Its genuinely got me around the bend. 5 properties in the same street, 3 storey so cant even get in a loft to run new earthing in bah. Happy Monday folks....

Back in the day you'd never see a cpc

You had to have a selection of class 2 lights at your disposal for lighting upgrades

Robus 2d 28/38 w , Philips Pl external, plastic sodium bulkheads , 12v halogen etc

Not as bad now on newer work, you're not as likely to get caught out with no CPC available

Old terrace houses, they have spent fortunes on the finishes and 0 on the wiring!

Is it just twin cable or have the earths been cut out.

Same land lord owns the lot and i've got the same issues in every house!

Prob direct labour or builder hired by landlord to do a cheap job

No architects/engineers or plans

Loads around here too, saw some in a bungalow Thursday! There were some class I fittings, black 3/.029 singles had been run from each of the 2 fittings to the nearest pipe in the loft for some sort of an earth. Unenclosed joints and screwits everywhere. The wiring in the greenhouse had burnt totally away in 2 places where it had got damp and had been arcing to the greenhouse frame...

Usually it is a pre-1966 sort of problem, unless some Muppet has simply failed to connect T&E cable's thoughtfully provided 'E' at all.
