Hi everyone,

1st post here so bear with me. I have a problem at an old property and I wondered if anyone could help me please.

At a house, a customer has reported that the upstairs lighting is not working apart from in the main bedroom in which the lights work ok in there.

There are other 3 rooms upstairs where there is no lighting:

Bathroom (with a 4 spotlight bar)
Landing - x 2 downlights
Nursery - x 4 downlights

The downlights are 12V Low voltage. I tested the connections at the down lights and found there is no power coming through. I tested the wall switches and there is power. I went in the loft and couldn't get to any junction boxes as the loft is boarded up with chipboard and tonnes of insulation laying on top

The client said the 1st day the bathroom light went out, next day the landing lights went out then 2 days later the nursery lights went out but main bedroom lights still work.

To me it sounds like a connection problem in the loft but no one has been up there to disturb any of the cabling. I checked the bulbs of the downlights and they seem ok.

Just wondering if any of you guys have come across this scenario before? If not what does the problem sound like to you?

Dont really want to rip up half the loft to get to the j/b's. The downlights have been put in professionally and have been clipped to the beams in the loft so I can't pull any connections through the holes in the ceilings!

Sorry for rambling on!!

Cheers

Just thinking, if the main bedroom had its own transformer supplying the downlights and all the other rooms which aren't working were wired into say a 6 way Toroidal transformer, could this burn out?
