Just wondering if someone can give me a hand here... I've never looked into or installed lightning protection but i've got a potential job installing lightning protection on a building that doesn't have any. Just wondering if there are particular regulations I need to adhere too etc... As I write this i'm sitting infront of the regs book ready to look through it and i'm not shortcutting to get the answer without looking, believe me I'll be looking but i'm just looking for some advice from people who may have experience in doing this.

Cheers.

Lightning protection is a Specialist business.

You're wasting any time spent looking into what's involved in an installation.

It spends most of it's life NOT conducting electricity, but when it does, it HAS to work correctly.

I would expect that the building owners insurance company policy would exclude you outright from having anything to do with this buildings Lightning Protection system. This is one area of work where you just DON'T jump in with both feet and hope for the best!! Even more so if this building is being used partially or solely as an IT centre....
