Anyone installed on a site where there is a lightning protection system (LPS) and you can't install a suitable distance away? Based on hwta I read from SMA guidance I suspect such sites are not suitable for PV?!
I always follow DTI guide and refer back to LPS designer of building. I always exclude any connection to LPS from price and suggest client asks LPS designer for a spec so I can price it. Just lost a job because of this approach (i.e. not pricing due to lack of information on LPS) and I'm working on a job designing system for a roof with LPS.
Any advice on what to do when there is an LPS and working near / on it is unavoidable would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Paul
