Lights blew in my cellar

Hey guys.

A year or so back, I wired up the lighting in my cellar. I have two wall lights that are controlled by one switch.

They usually work fine, but in the last month, both of them have blown, the last one quite dramatically.

Do you think there could be a problem with the wiring? What should I check?

Sorry to be no help, but if you need to ask i would check yellow pages for a local electrician. You probably don't have the right kit(test meters) for the job anyway.
