I want to wire 2 fluorescent lights through a time-switch but also be able to bypass the switch as well.

I thought about feeding a double pole switch (for isolation purposes), then in to a 2 gang switch. From here linking the commons together. 1 gang switching a feed to the time-switch. The other gang switching a feed to the load side of the time-switch so bypassing it. The light obviously connected to load side of the time-switch.

I am probably making this more complicated than it needs to be, so after opinions really. Thanks.:)

You only need to parrellel the switch with the timer, if the switch is off the timer will switch the light, if you want the switch on permanently or on when the timer will not allow it to be on just flick the switch, just ensure the switchwire from each are linked and your good to go.

You only need to parrellel the cores mate, either switch will then do the job, the timer or manual switch, regarding a back feed situation, in this particular case it will not matter, crack on.
