What type of lighting is it happening on? I've had a similar fault in a factory where the lights flickered when all the machinery was running. Voltage was being dragged down to the limit for the fittings operational tolerence. re-wired with bigger conductors and problem solved, not so easy in someones house!

If they are using CFL's they often do seem to flicker when switched off occasionally, been called to several of these and no fault ever found.Could be due to a capacitor in the lamp being charged by a tiny induced voltage in the wiring?? Other than that do all the tests you would do on a PIR on system and see what if anything shows up.

just a pendant in the lounge with downlights in bathroom but they are not low voltage.

checked the house board its seems to be ok they also have a kennel block which is also flickering this run from another board and is connected to the henley block in the house my thoughts are that the problem is with the incomming supply would like to hear anyone else's idea's

cheers

they don't have any neighbours the problem only started in the last 2 weeks the its a tn-s system the property is on a main road but is surrounded by fields the husband cannot see the flicker but having now looked at it at night i can see it,
it happerns every 60-74 sec some work has been carried out on the road could it be on the mains in as to a fault on consumer side

we went to a fault with similar symptoms.
is it an overhead supply? if so check the incoming voltage at the tails, we checked at this house and it was 167volts, called scottish power out and the connection at their porcelin pot on the pole had losened in the wind.
he tightened up the connection and she had a healthy 242volts....problem solved!!!
