hi all
ive just landed a great contract which requires me to travel all round the country testing. the only problem is my van. its old and although its served me well its time to ged rid. im going to be leasing one through my company im limited, my question is what will be checked when i do this my credit or my company? a few years ago i got into some finacial difficulty and although ive just got it all sorted my rating is less than impressive. any insights would be greatly appreciated thanks

You may be better off personally buying a car and charging your ltd co for its use. Current rates for business mileage are 40p/mile for the first 10k, then 26p/mile thereafter. Choose the vehicle and filling station carefully (not that carefully to be honest!) and you're quids in and have a personal vehicle. If you need a van then purchase through ltd co reclaim VAT even if you're on flat rate scheme, if it doesn't have to be a commercial vehicle, glass behind driver on the side etc I'd get a car and charge mileage. Just about to get a 04 reg Astra/Focus estate mine has to be white or silver for highways use for about £2500, insurance inc businesss use for c. 50000 miles is £350 and because it's a personal vehicle I can legally use it whenever and for whatever. Unfortunately mine willl have big yellow and orange stripes and a big flashing orange light on.
