As anyone used the line Din rail connectors looking for feed back need to move a CU and extend the cables from where they are now any one else used them and what did you put it in many thanks Tony

used the wago ones, no problem, except difficult to get a conductor out. i imagine the line ones are virtually the same.

edit: fitted a piece of din rail in a 9" x 6" ad. box.

Ive Used dim rail connectors hundreds of times over the years, a Ipx65 enclosure with screwed lid is a very good method, Ip55 or whatever will be fine, I love the earth terminal connectors as well and it is very easy to make a neat job, a great way to extend cables IMHO. I would always recommend a box where there is at least 3" below and above connectors to make a really good neat job of it.

I think the dim rail connectors is a very professional approach actually fella, so definately consider it, most joints I have seen or have done usually have this method and any spark looking at it would think it was the right way to do the Job.

Never really thought about it before as most of my work is industrial, what type of gland do you use for T&E into the box? I can't remember seeing any with a flat oval insert to match the cable.

Don't really need to gland off T&E in this case! Just make sure you don't have cables entering the top of the enclosure, and if you want to be super-duper then seal up the gaps around the cable entry points.

I'm facing having to extend over 100 CUs in a similar way. It was suggested to me in a recent thread to use an old CU housing as the box - already has DIN rail and you could utilise N/E bars. Still mulling it over though.

So you just run the T&E in through the 20mm knockouts in the box? I've also been trying to find a box (other than a CU) which has knockouts more suitable for T&E.

TBH, I need over 100 of these in the new year, and finding the right box will be the critical thing for me. Still thinking about it. Cable entry is an issue, especially if using a metal box, which I won't be due to cost.

I've got to admit that, although din rail connectors look very nice, I have stuck with crimps plus an adaptable or an ashley RB4. Cheap and cheerful........

I might change my mind if I had to do 100 of them though!
