Hello,

My mother a/c got touched by live wire in the case.
The a/c is grounded and the electric breaker jumped so there was a very short time short.
The a/c is not functional after this short and Technion said the card is dead due to the short.

Can live wire that touch the case kill the card or cause other damage if the a/c grounded?

Thanks,
Kish

Yes, a loose cable inside the a/c that touches the case (grounded) will cause a spark and a bang because a large amount of electricity will flow in a short time.
this can damage electronics inside the a/c unit

if someone was touching the a/c unit at the time, the fact that it was grounded properly may well have saved their life.
