i wonder if anyone knows where i can get an electricans skate from.i havnt seen one in years and i still think its hard to beat for cutting tongue and groove floorboards

I know mate, I remember. I was green when you posted it, been after one since my bosch went belly up (still haven't looked at it yet though).

Motor runs, but makes a lovely noise and the head hardly moves. Numpty here didn't sent off for the 3 year guarantee (thought it came with the purchase), I'll take it to bits when I summon up the enthusiasm for it I suspect it's knackered gearing. I'll post some piccys when I get it to bits if it's fixable.

i wouldn't use a jigsaw for the risk of cutting cables(or anything else)at least u can adjust the depth of cut with a circular saw

No, not a jigsaw, cuts too deeply. Better off with either a multitool, circ saw, or thin bladed bolster.
