Can anyone suggest a locking off device (preferably a wire) for locking off an small isolator switch provided by the DNO at the cut out. All my lockout devices are too big for a little switch. I cannot see how to lock it off apart from it has a small hole in the screw holding the lid on the isolator. A bit similar to the hole through the screw which is sealed. Thanks. PP

i would assume that hole was for an anti tamper seal, not to lock off the isolator.

I agree its for a seal but I cannot think of any other way to lock this off. The switch underneath is too small for the normal locking off devices.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I tried but could not see anything that would suit. I cannot believe that they offer an isolator for convenience (great!) but do not think about safety!

I shall have to park my dog next to it to fend off anyone who approaches!

You won't find anything that replaces that, however you might be able to have a custom made screw & tab made up to suit it if you're working on them on a regular basis. I'm thinking a Z shaped bracket that has a hole in it, and a larger head screw with a hole through it. So when you screw it in (which you can do by finger I'd imagine if the head is big enough for a padlock, it lines up with the Z-shaped bracket. Padlock it and it'll be impossible to remove due to the Z of the bracket hooking over the edge of the unit.

What a bloody good idea. Did not even think of that. I have now seen them and they are perfect for short term use. Thanks to all.

They don't really prevent anyone reasonably determined from turning it back on then, while a lockoff does give a degree more protection.

I agree but it is sort of locked off! If they wanted to remove a pad lock, they could do if determined. This is a "barrier" and along with a sign fiited I hope it will let the nosey people, who may find themselves in the meter cupboard, realise that they need to keep their hands off whilst I am working!

I am grateful for all those who have tried to help me.
