Hum.... slightly confused :(

I have been asked to install a small consumer unit in loft to feed new loft electrics only, (Ie sockets, lights and extractor fan), however a little confused on what cable is required to feed the new Consumer unit?

Calculations make 16mm cable fine for job, but does it need to be SWA?? Cant really find anywhere in OSG or regs book that requires this, however seem to rememeber someone once telling me this must be SWA as going to be under floorboards??

Can someone please clarify?

as long as it's run according to regs. ( 50mm below floorboards) i can't see any reason not to use T/E ( possibly with a separate 16mm earth). if it's buried in a wall at any point, it will need RCD protection

just sub mains it 50 or 63 amp MCB 16mm TWE as long as its clipped direct and not under floors or installed in walls less than 50mm and that the Zs readings meet the regs then there is no problem , bit odd to sub main a loft though unless its for his Xmas lights yo ho ho
