Hi

I wanna know what the secret is to working with loft insulation.

I'm doing a re-wire on a bungalow and the owners recently had their loft re-insulated. When standing on the joists the stuff takes me up to my knees, YES that's right my knees in the sh*t. I've currently got it down my neck, my face is burning, feels like I've been tanning for 5 hours in the sun, think it might be in my pants but don't wanna think about that at the mo:eek: I feel like a CACTUS!!

So what's the secret????

Cheers
Mark

If you cant avoid it when you get out dont rub it off you as the small glass needles will embed best way is to do loft work is if you do it in an afternoon then get home strip off and shower it off not sponge just free running water, well this works best for me or a nice sweaty boiler suit as above.

I do a lot of thi with my dad just now and have found the best way to work with it is to ware a thick long sleaved top with jeans and a face mask. Some tape to seal your trousers legs or just tuck them into your socks.

Once finished get out side and off with the top and if you have access to a air compressor use that to blow the fibers off your clothes and then home for a long shower.

if im going to be up there for a while il take my work t shirt off and put my waterproof jacket on my goggles on my face mask on and tuck socks inside trousers

once outside i chuck some water on face on but on my clean t shirt

i hate the stuff makes me itch like a bugger and my eyes go red lol

ha ha ha

have you never been on a site whenb a new lagger in there?

all the other laggers complain that they stink, and really need to do something on there personal hygenne

so the new guy goes home and has a LONG HOT shower

tyhe pieces of glass fibre go into the guys pores and they scratch even more :D

So the secret is to wash with cold water, or cold shower, it'll be a bit unpleasant but allot better than scratching :)
