I have been looking for second hand PAT tester.
Do any of you have any advice on which one any information would be great as new to this line of work.

My Metrel PAT tester works just fine, but then so do a lot of others!

If you are buying 2nd hand don't forget to factor in re-calibration costs.

Thanks East Anglian just trying to get a feel for what people find works for them and what sort of money I should look at paying thanks again for your reply.

depends what you are doing,i have a couple of them and they are just the basic type does insulation test and earth bond, justhas two lights for each test pass or fail, might be getting rid of one cheap if your anywhere near warrington.

I brought a old seaward a couple of years ago for ÂŁ40 (off ebay)... it was a gamble. Got it calibrated and it's a good unit.. we now use it along side our other PAT testers

If you are going to to a lot , get one with built in software and down loadable to your pc. I have a seaward/ ethos and it is very good, but so are a lot of others. If you just get a basic machine due to it's simplicity it may fail assets that you can not programme in cable resistance limits etc.
