Try Office Live for a website m8, pretty simple, got templates and what have u. You would need to buy a domain name, normally cost u about a tenner I think.

The thing is times are tough and business is quite slow at the moment, but if you have got nothing to lose, give it a go. Try contacting local builders, kitchen fitters and people like that, you may get lucky with someone there. Might even be worth contacting your local council or housing association to see if they have an approved contractors list, see if you can get on that maybe.

Start up costs can vary, if like me you are on a tight budget, try and get testing equipment off ebay maybe, but be careful if you do that. I got mine from Test Meter and Electrical Test & Measurement Equipment Supplier - Test Meters and Electrical Test Equipment Supplier - Test and Measuring Meters , bought a Metrel for about £400 all in. Also what I done was start with small jobs and try and save the cash for joinng Elecsa, Napit or NICEIC andthen you can move on with the bigger jobs without having to worry about LABC.

Whatever you decide, Good Luck m8.

getting british business online provides free website and .co.uk address although limited in appearance

office live also does free but you will need to purchase a domain name if you wanted something specific:
can create something similar to Bells Electrical - Home

dont get put off by a lot of negativity about at moment - there is work out there and any bit is better than sitting at home doing nothing, ive been quiet for about two weeks then two full rewires come in at once.

Goverment grants are available for new startups may be worth looking at
business link offer some help and advise

partp unfortunately is a must and will cost around £400 and also £2M public liability
so is test equipment (around £400 from ebay)

We bought web space for about £60 per month, and have created a couple of sites with it.

You can learn how to make websites yourself with a little patience, or you could use one of the free web spaces..

My brother tackled ours. He had never built one before but did a fairly good job...

Electricraft Electrical Contractors

.... Shame we are folding the company...

folding? not good M8

Yeah well the two partners (myself included) have decided to go our separate ways... Of which both directions, this company isn't marketed for.

It's the worst time to set up companies though, so I'm seeking temporary employment, which is fun. :(
