I have 3mm and 4mm G/Y sleeving and can't see me using the 4mm sleeving. Gonna return it I think. Made the mistake in mixing up cable size (mm²) and diameter(mm) when purchasing:rolleyes:.

Anyway, this 3mm sleeving provides a lose fit on 2.5mm² copper core. Anyone know if provides a 'just right' fit on the CPC(4mm²) in 10mm² T&E or a 'tight' fit?

Thanks in advance:)

Well, there might be some 10mm in my firm's office. Just a bit impatient I guess. Going back to my local wholesaler Wednesday. Wanna get my money back on the 4mm sleeving see.

Cheers barx, thought it might be.

3mm is quite tight on 6mm² copper core, and that's only in 16mm² T&E. Not going to be using that anytime too soon. 4mm's good for that size, but going to return the 4mm sleeving now.

Yeah, lol. Heatshrink would be:)

Where's the heatgun now......

Also, while on the subject barx what size sleeving do use to indicate 1.5mm² switch lines in lighting? I bought some 3mm brown and it just seems too tight:confused:

3mm will be a little tight, however 4mm will fit fine BUT, you must make sure that when you strip the 10mm that you give the strands a couple of turns to tighten them a little and keep it DEAD STRAIGHT.

Trim the end and slide on your sleeving.

I will also point out that some sleeving is quite 'stiff' and doesnt bend or stretch very well.

One i find that does have a bit of give is the Niglon sleeving available here:

4mm Earth Cable Sleeving ( 100M Coil )

I know it's no BIG deal, sleeving etc. But I know what I need now. Btw, I think some sleeving having more give than others might be something to do with the wall thickness of the sleeving. After all it's all PVC.

Anyway, thanks for the advice.
