using a test lamp across the L&N to freeze the rcd, generally a 5 second touch with the test lamp and it freezes the rcd then you can do a loop test with the rcd tester set on trip, I find it gives a better reading than the no trip option on the rcd tester I have,however on Thursday I took a bit more time than usual between the test lamp and the loop test and I thought I'd missed it but the rcd was still froze out, so I decided to time it, I waited 15 minutes then tried again, the rcd froze out for 50 seconds, a longish time I thought, what are your thoughts on this, a lot can happen in 50 seconds
