I was wondering if any of you employers had any tips on things you would look for on a CV which would help me get a job, it's been 3 weeks now and i'm reaaaally ----ing worried. I've rang endless sparks and construction companies with no such luck. So in the mean time if anybody has any ideas for approaching or just things for my CV i would appreciate it! Thanks! (coming up 3rd year apprentice by the way)

Your post says you lost your job due to dodgy site manager, how exactly out of interest? if you felt your treatment was unfair, you could possibly be in line for some compo, just thinking. But as HT says try the Agencies they may have something for you, your CV, could send you mine if you like stood me in good stead.

Just remember to downplay the information you have given in this post title!
Emphasise the positive and minimise the negative (without lying).
Follow up on any applications you make, be (slightly) pushy and be knowledgeable and positive at all times.
Do research the company and the job and put down information and wording that is used by the company and in the job adverts so that they will see familiar phrases and recognise them as applicable.

Good luck:thumbsup: and it can take time:hourglasssand:!

I couldn't get any compo, i was only there 2/3 weeks, the spark i was working with has no interest in his working, was very lazy etc, i had to constantly pest him for something to do if i had ran out of what i needed to do, sometimes he would be away doing something, the site manager would see me doing nothing, I would always sweep up, tidy tools, try to keep busy best i could, site manager was mates with my gaffa and told him i had been doing nothing, rather than putting me with another spark which i begged him to do so i could prove my worth, he just sacked me.
That would be great yeah thank you

thanks for those tips Richard, appreciate them, never thought about including things from the initial ad. I will start doing that now in my cover letters, cheers
