Well, i need to get NICEIC Registered... So, for my major I decided to rewire our house.

Am I glad I did. Had a major fault that so easily coulda killed us all.

Basically a damaged cable (10mm) whose insulation resistance was measured in mΩ rather than MΩ. The Main protective conductor to the incoming water was without insulation at all, totally charred. God knows what current had flowed through that. How the hell we had never smelled burning I will never know. 3036 was wired in 2.5mm core.

Hoping to see a decrease in electricity bills now. And a message to you all, check your own houses for gods sake

Just saying i found a few problems... Damaged insulation to a 10mm cable. Witha total fail on IR test i measured it on continuity and got a reading just shy of 130Ω....

Circuit is now disconnected and as soon as i find the short i will post up some piccies!
