Just to let u know, I have just come across a jointbox that someone has made off in a Thundercats lunchbox !!!! Do you think it would be okay left with a bead of silicone around the lid, or do you think I should re-do it in an IP rated box ; )

Fantastic...... Any Pics!!!

Re Do with an appropriate IP rated box.... That's unless the thundercats box has an IP rating on it?!?!?

When we moved into our house, the previous owner hand a small pond outside, which had a small pump in it, it was fed via a 3 core flex running along a wall, going to a small tuperware box which had a single socket outlet in it, which in turn was fed from an extension lead from an socket inside. To be fair to the guy he did drill a drain hole at the bottom of the box.

Found some connectors a while ago screwed to a joist under a floor with a coffee jar lid fixed over the top on a tt system with no stake and earth via water main was a right mess the whole job

Hi, I did a PIR on a static caravan recently which had 3 cables jointed under the van in an old tupperware box. But that was ok cos it was microwave proof.

Did he drill that hole when installing it though, or as a 'mod' after it filled up with water and took his rcd out?

I actually seen a tuperware type box in a pool pump room once the checky git had actually put cable glands in it. tbh it worked ! not conventional but i reclon as good if not better against water ingrese as some ip65 boxes ive seen. you can laugh but i seen it.
