LV spotlights in suspended ceiling

im installing 12 LV spots in a suspended ceiling, i will be using firetents , but i have never seen spots in suspended ceiling, is it safe to do so, and do they look ok
the ceiling is the office type tiles, cheers

I'd maybe go for mains voltage ones, and use either LED or CFL type lamps, for heat reasons.

what is above the tiles?

Yes, exactly....if the 'real' ceiling is above then surely that's where the fire regs apply? Otherwise, just use fire-rated units. Hoods are pants.

those tents or hoods really are pants as steam boatwillysays. i'd go for the all in one fire rated downlights, often good for acoustics too and put cfl lamps in

Only thing I would suggest is depending on the material the tiles are made of, you may need a 'backer' to the ceiling tile to support the light fitting, particularly the holding springs as some tiles are very soft and the srings wont bite down on them, just break through.

update guys, job is done, there real ceiling is about 500mm up from the suspended one, they tiles are like a hard plaster board tye, the fittings i used wasnt fire rated, if they need to be i will have to order some tents, they are pants tents as everyone agrres, but as they are tiles i could pop out the tile at side of the fitting and just pop it over the fitting,
