Mag lock

What cable would you use for mag locks. Telephone or alarm cable. Does it make a difference?

My 1200lb maglock at home is done in cat5 and it works fine, admittedly I feel it needs redoing as the strands are a little on the thin side.

Whilst on the subject, I've got one of those yuasa motorbike battery looking things I'm going to use to hold it on when the power goes, currently it's running off my CCTV transformer but need to put the battery in line, or on its own source, it's a flat charger I need isn't it? Not a trickle charger as I want to use it whilst on charge.

Distance will only be about 20 meters. Would telephone cable do or shall I use cat 5 to be on safe side.

not cat5 nor telephone cable as stated already it is to brittle, used 4 or 6 core stranded alarm cable.

YY is cheap so why not use that?
