Hi there,

We're looking into the popularity of magnetic bit drivers, and if you have one in your toolbox:

What do you think of them?

Do you have one? If not, why not?

Have you seen ones on site?

Would an insulated bit driver be useful in your tool box?

Let us know what you think!

Thanks,
Mathew From C.K Tools

I do use magnetic bit drivers mainly when I am using security bits

A bit driver that has a captive lock to retain the bit would be useful it can be annoying crawling round the floor try to find the bit that has fallen out of the driver

An insulated bit driver would in some circumstances be a useful addition to the not often used toolbox

Do you mean this sort of bit driver for your drill / impact ?

I can see an insulated one being quite handy for doing consumer units

I tend to use lightly magnetised 150mm bits as they reach places that bit holders won't go. When using a bit holder it's always magnetic to keep the bit in place, but too much magnetism tends to pick up random pieces of ferrous material.

Insulated bit holders aren't something I'd have any interest in.
