what is the correct isolation procedure for a main cut out fuse, i no pulling it and removing the fuse replacing the casing works on a daily basis, but is there a set procedure, should we call the local electrical board?? are we allowed to cut the "tag's"???

by the book it would be to contact the dno for them to fit a dp isolator or for them to come and remove the fuse for you. no you are not allowed to cut the tags officially. unless you are a scheme member in a designated area

if it`s the official answer your after than yes. if it were a practicable electricians day to day response well i am sure you know what people would say. maybe the seal was broken before you got there. the thing to watch out for if you did ever do it the incorrect way would be brittle carriers. it needs a firm grip and pulling out in a nice smooth motion. your call mate either way.:)

;) of course iv never pulled one myself!!;) but just seems a little backwards still. theres all theses people out there doing what ever they like in the trade, and there all of us that are trying to do things by the book, but get stopped by stupid stuff like this!

Re: Switched fuse on meter tails ?
DNO doesn't fit the switch in my area, its the Meter Operator working on behalf of the Energy Supplier.
Cost usually 45-65 pounds. Which is a very fair price.

I'm assuming if you click this THANKS it will go to Lamb
