Main earth advice please.

Hi, started a rewire today and first thing i always do is take out the old c.u and set up my temp board. While doing this i noticed that there is no earth block , just 2 cores coming out the wall and into the M.I switch and the N block.

My question is , how do i earth this installation??? Sorry if its a daft question, but ive never come accross this and i need this finnished on thursday!

sounds like you need to make it tt get a stake banged in
had something a bit like this before in an old chapel there was only a live and neutral in
and a link from the n bar to the e bar within the cu (self tncs)

Generally, enquire with DNO if PME is available.

However, post a pic of the supply and we can further advise.

i think you MAY find the DNO will renew the cable for free if it MI.

Im assuming its a flat you are wiring?

It certainly would be well past its sell by date IMO.

Bit off thread but is it common to see TT supply's which have an earth block on the side of the cut out ?

its a bungalow im wiring , will get a pic up 2morrow thanks. Wouldnt know where to start with the stake lol!!!

Gravid, if the earthblock is part of the cutout then this sounds like TNCS. The earth block is tapped off the neutral inside the cutout.
