main feed to db query

looked at a job the other day the db had been moved . The cable feeding it was a swa but the neutral with in was a load of multi cores and the live was 25mm is this OK?

Sounds like a split concentric cable.

Solid middle core and standed outer.

Nowt wrong wi that at all.

Its a strange cable for you to come across feeding a dist' board as it normally found as a supply cable from you local electrical supplier but what good for the goose is good for the gander as long as the neutral is insulated fully from the earth and the size is equivalent to phase then i cant see a problem

The basic idea of this arrangement of conductors being it removes the possibility of the neutral being severed without the line also being cut - important for PME supply cables where loss of Neutral introduces particular issues.
