Hi.

I have a TN-S supply in my house BUT I cant seem to find the earthing for the gas and water which I thought should be connected directly to the main earthing terminal.

The MET has an earth from the main supply then an earth going straight to the CU.

But I was on the understanding that there would be earth also for the Gas and the Water supply.

Have checked outside at the gas mains and it appears that where the gas pipe enters the house (approx 3m away from CU) there is an earthg clamp with earth attached but it ends up disappearing back into the building and presumably going upstairs.

Also I cant find an earth for the water BUT would I be right in maybe saying that may possibly be somewhere where the boiler is which is upstairs.

Just a bit confusing (although dont take much to confuse me) - what do I do in this situation.

Your help would be most appreciated.

It could be that earth bar within the consumer unit has been used as an MET and that they are in there.

Oh yeah.

Is that fine for that to be that way or do service bonding have to or meant to be on the MET??

Oh yeah just checked and can see two - obviously one is the water and other is the gas (I hope lol).

Any usual places where the Water inlet pipe will be hiding as cant find it hence cant find the earth clamp for the water?
