Maintained/Non Maintained ?

Maintained is illuminated with power connected or failure, non maintained is illuminated on power failure only

Maintained = light is always on. None maintained = light is off until the power supply is cut/switched off. Both have a battery that has to give light for a min of 3 hours.

I seem to be getting a lot of those recently.

The minimum duration is 1 hour, BS 5266-7:1999, 4.2.5 & 4.3.5.

Three hour duration maybe need on some premises, hospitals, hotels, clubs or larger premises.

Good point kinky, I've only worked on commercial EM lights (3 hours in most cases).
