I have a whole house 110v sewage pump. Manufacturer says it needs 5 times the operating current for start up. That's 7000 watts. I plan on getting a 8500 watt inverter generator and manual transfer panel.

The generator will be connected with a 220v 30amp cord. My math says that since the panel splits the 30amps each of the 3 breakers per side can't have the required wattage. I'm assuming that the startup surge of current would be a problem for the main supplied wiring so not sure the generator is any different accept longer startup time for the pump motor. Is that right or have I missed something?
