Manufactures moving

Looks like some of the Chinese manufactures are moving countries to avoid the tax. Email sent to me today. xxxcxxxx has stock available
and long term supply of the 250W Virtus II 2nd Gen Poly panels, from Tier 1
manufacturer, ReneSola. These panels are made in Poland and exempt form the
anti dumping tariff

Yeah I got the same email. But why are they still moving I thought that now that the EU have reached agreement with China is should all be okay again. Or is there something else were not being told.

isn;t so they can charge what price they like as they aren't classed as Chinese?

@Ian-LS yes that will be one of the reasons, also depends upon the source of the cells ..... however China also buys a lot of polysilicon from the EU hence why it's all so complicated ! (It's a mess...)

Anti dumping agreement means that only the 90 odd companies on the "approved list" will be able to import to EU at an agreed price level. All the others (apart from 2) will have the duty applied on entry to EU. Currently that is 67.9% which in my book puts them out of the market which in itself is anti competitive. So you either buy from the approved companies or you go elsewhere. If supplies come in from Malaysia etc. but they must do something to the goods not just re expert them. I am sure HMRC are not fools over this but other borders around the EU are likely to be more porous. UK PLC will not get the business but Poland or Latvia likely will.
