Hi all
I do a lot of kitchens and have done one recently were the sockets were all out. Ie **** to my disbelief. So I blamed the f***ing level as I Mark out by spirit level and pencil line. I've tried a laser level also this was good for a while. Until I drop it on the floor and then that went wonky. Anyway I was wondering if anybody has any alternative methods I could try out or and opinion on any said methods many thanks in advance

I don't believe I'm reading this.

Are you sure you have posted it in the right section? Maybe it should be in the Jokes Section.

I'll tell you what bonny lad ... If I couldn't use a spirit level I would be too ashamed to tell anybody - never mint post it on an internet forum !!!

One wonders what spirit level he's talking about. There are basically two types here
1/ A friday night concoction with a depth charge
2/ Something that goes Boo in the night.....spooky !

If you need a reliable method to get a straight line across a wall use a water level with a chalk line ... the old ones still work unless some has fiddled around with the Physics

get some new bubbles for your spirit level mate that might help and a long stand to place your level onto might help you out.

My original trade is not an electrician and as a first year apprentice one of my jobs was to repair spirit levels which back then were made of wood for the frame with glass tubes for the bubbles. These invariable got smashed and I had to fit new ones. They were set on pieces of Plasticine then fixed with Plaster of Paris.

Another job was repairing 100 foot steel tape measures that surveyors use. This all led up to the second year of my apprenticeship which was spent repairing Theodolites - not an easy task when it's been run over and ground into the mud by a bulldozer ........

There's a LOT wrong with my eyes now. They both have cataracts forming and the right one may as well not be there.

Whatever you do, DON'T get old - it's no fun !!

That said; my beloved Tidyboiler had a new combi boiler fitted at her house last week by a couple of 30 something year old blokes and there's nothing level or plumb anywhere and I mean by large amounts - even I can see it. It is an unmitigated shambles!!

Just waiting for their Gaffer to show up & I'll be offering him words of advice ....

Know what you mean about the eyes.....it's easier weighing up from afar than trying to find that bleedin' bubble....

Typical of today's standards....

Be sure to speak with aplomb, about the plumb, that is.
