morning everyone
could someone please help me on calculating max demand on a cooker ran off 6mm t&e off 40amp mcb, the cookers kw unknown but its older than grass!!
also an old fashioned heating system ran off 2.5 t&e off a 16a mcb which circulates hot air through vents throughout the house again kw unidentifiable.
any help would be great thanks
 
just need the total max demand on my eic for my assessment worked out sockets lights etc just stuck on the above items as theres no identification on them, they were installed in 1972 so you can imagine the state they in

Ooh mate, i know exactly where your coming from lol. Got 3 girls of my own;) Just thought that maybe you'd forgotten about doing it that way lol, if you want a clamp meter for occasional use they do a small 1 in Maplins for ÂŁ13.00 & according to some of the guy's on here it's quite good.

Older cookers if I remember rightly were about 1.6 to 2 kw per ring & the oven about 3 to 3.5kw. The forced air heating probably about 3kw. But are you sure it's Electric forced air & not Gas / Oil useing a fan for distribution ?

sorry specialist only got half of your reply before, dont think any gas or oil is involved i will get back to you in a few mins, adding the breakers together gives me 116a, main fuse is only 60a oviously not everything will be on at the same time so would i put 116a onto the eic, if i use diversity iam still stuck on cooker and heating because i still need the kw
