Max load on 850watt dimmer

? trying to work out max load on 800watt dimmer with 50watt low voltage down lights have to calculate the load by the amount of 60va transformers instead of the lamp watts not sure how to convert the amount of 60va transformers into max watts for the dimmer

VA(volt amps) are, for all intents and purposes, watts (volts x amps = watts) they are just called VA for power factor calculations so just divide 800/60=13.333. so you can have 13

thanks i had asked for a 1000 watt dimmer but ended up with 800 watt dimmer and i have exactly 13 to dim thanks for your help

It will probably buzz and get warm.work for a while and then depart, to go where all burnt out dimmers go,no not to meet its maker,the bin of course

I would persue the 1000 watt version to allow for a reduced percentage of the dimmers capacity,it will die you know
