Max. Zs--- useful (maybe) tip

stuck on site without OSG? want to know the max, Zs for a certain MCB?

multiply the MCB rated current by 5, then divide into 230 = max. Zs. ( uncorrected)

That is for 60898 type B. for C use x10, for D use x20.

then x 0.8 for corrected value.

e.g. 60898 type C , 16A ........ 230/(16 x 10) = 230/160 = 1.4375

corrected ....... 1.4375 x 0.8 = 1.15

That was pointed out to us on the 2382 in a slightly different way.... at the far right of table 41.3 there's the column that just has In for the rating.
Then underneath there's 46/In for Type B, 23/In for Type C and 11.5/In for Type D.

But the Telectrix way is easier to remember

course i do, but january is usually quiet, this year it's dead. resorted to reinstating my ad. in the local rag this week. luckily, her indoors is earning or else i'd be selling the big issue now.

it's literally a pain in the jacksie. can't have a beer in case called out. have to go outside and freeze for a smoke. still debating whether to join napit or elecsa. or just give up before having to shell out more cash on amendment etc. etc.
