MCB blankers?

This might sound abit stupid but can you get blank sections to fill the space in a consumer unit for unused MCB's?

For example most consumer unit deals now come with MCB's that won't need to be used. Hope that makes sense.

If so what are they called? Cheers

Yes they are module blanks and should be available from any wholesaler.
e.g. from Meteor
GE 4 Module Blanks| MeteorElectrical.com
You can get either these above that are small and flat or you can get the one that fill the full gap and fit to the DIN rail, sometimes useful to prevent MCbs sliding on the DIN rail

Although the GE blanks above are generally universal and will fit most DBs. The DB manufacturers own blanks often fit more securely and look neater than the universal types and therefore should be your first choice. Any electrical wholesaler will be able to source blanks for all of the major manufacturers.

You also get the banks that clip in the box lid as well as the type that are the same size as an MCB and clip on the rail. Any wholesaler should have a variety.

Toolstation also stock MK ones if that's any nearer to you than a wholesaler.

IMO the MCB size ones that clip over the bus bar are much better as they can only be removed with the db cover off. More expensive but a much better job.

I will leave the MCB's in the box that don't serve any ciruit and mark them "unused" - they are the property of the customer.

In my early days on this forum, the issue of what to do with the "spare" MCBs was discussed & I jokingly said I sold them on e-bay.

For that I was severely rebuked by our Friend Tony !!! .... I think we're ok now though :17:
