Reading the responses to a question on the main forum, it sounds like adding a new MCB to a fuse-board is common practice. I thought that most of us were fitting dedicated mini consumer units as standard for solar?

I think if the existing CCU has a spare way on a non RCD side of the board, or in a high integrity CCU then why install a new one? It starts looking messy when there are boards all over the place! A job i was on today aready had 5!! yes 5 consumer units in one area.

The only benefit i see is that you have not got any comeback if their lights start tripping a few days down the line!
