How long can a 32Amp MCB hold for if circuit is pulling around 38Amps?

Off top of head a long time. 1.13 x 32 will hold all day, 38 isn't much more. Would need to get out of bed & look it up. So no chance.

it's off the scale at 38A, it would stand 45A for 10,000 secs. so my answer is forever.

If you rate it at 38A some silly bugger will ram 45A through it.
You just have to set a base line somewhere. Why did 30A become 32A? Why did we join the EU? Why did I ……….

32 amps is theoretically the maximum current that the MCB can take and never trip, with 38 amps it may run for two days and then trip. Since the graphs only go up to 3 hours we can only estimate longer trip times.
