I had my assessment today and passed through for the MCS (Air Source Heat Pumps). I also got through for the electrical, plumbing, ventilation and hopefully after my onliine exam aircon. I went/we went through NAPIT and the assessor will helpful and informative. There is no doubt as I get older I get more nervous about these situations and tests. I had cancelled the assessment twice before to:
a) get the paperwork up to scratch ie quality manual and documented procedures,
b) get access to an installation that demonstrated all of the above,
c) once I got access I had to bring the installation upto the standard ie numbering of the wiring control for the heat pump and creating design schematics.
I think the assessment was worth it will most probably raised the standard of my work in the domestic sector. My main work being a multiskilled eng in manufacturing. I also do some commercial work.
How I will move on with this I do not know. I need to obtain the REAL Assurance and then take stock, most probably in the new year now. Anyway I know most people are into the Solar PV but if anybody needs advice I will endeavour to help.
