dgreenberr

i have just had my inspection for my mcs accreditation and my head is spinning, firstly i am told that i must be a member of real no one as told me that and after contacting niceic they agree that its not on the questionare, then he pulled me down on my quality assurance manual (that i dont pocess) i have done risk assessments, method statements etc but thats not enough, also i need a formal agreemnet for using a subcontractor, ie the roofer can anyone steer me in the right direction cause at the moment i am throwing money after money into the pot with no return

yep you need both, try ecta (corgi) they have a good QMS template, cost you though, don't ask i did't pay the bill.

I know that you think you're throwing money after money, however this is a business and you need proper business processes, sorry if that sounds harsh.

You need a QMS, EasyMCS do one and their costs aren't horrendous.

We developed our own, however one of my colleagues is an ISO900x auditor so he knows how to put these together.

NAPIT will actually provide you a template one foc as part of your application.

Having said that, any that you buy you will have to edit to make sure they contain your details and that will also give you a chance to learn about all the proper procedures.

Chin up mate! It isn't the end of the world, it's just like not passing your driving test the first time - did you quit then - I bet not.

Think about what you've learnt, get your QMS in place which should include EVERYTHING from customer enquiry to appointing suppliers and subcontractors (with a template subcontract form) through to the User Manual.

Just perservere :)
