S

scarey

please stop me head spinning and offer your experienced advice on the following setups..

16x hj solar panels with a power one inverter, or
16x suntelitte panles and power one inverter, or
16x samsung panels with a fronius inverter..

i've tried to get some reviews on these on the interweb but i've not come up with any positive advice.

thanks.

Not come across any of those panels, my advice is to look at the datasheets. Minimum you need 10 Yr workmanship product warranty. Just because of the rush for 12th Dec deadline it doesnt mean you should comprimise on quality otherwise the long term yield/return will be poor - might as well install a decent system at 21p - not saying the above are crap.

Hj are a good budget panel, not sure you'll get a good budget price and where anyone will get Power One inverters from now is anyone's guess.

"Know your planet" are able to get power one inverters shipped over from germany give them a try

thanks for all your replys , as always it looks like its best to go with the well known names..

Not necessarily, but you may prefer the comfort of a "name". If you weren't looking for solar panels you wouldn't have heard of SMA Sunnyboy but they are the biggest "name" in solar inverters. Just because someone makes a tv or microwave doesn't necessarily mean they make the best pv panel :-)

but when people say they havnt heard of a particular panel then what do you do take a risk or stick with a well known manufacture..

Listen to your installer - most of us are very sad and will run different options through PVsol so you can undertsand the differences, they will also tell you about build, warranties, photon testing, salt mist tests etc etc it's all part of the service any decent installer will provide. Having said that if you don't chose soon your choice will be made for you because there won't be anything left. If I were you I'd be asking for Bisol or REC, not know brands but v good mid-range panels that perform exceptionally well.

Good luck
