Dear all,

I have what I hope isn't a silly question, I have a circuit on my CU that powers the spark ignitor for the gas hob, the inner workings are obviously all tucked away and pretty inaccessable, to that end how would I measure the resistance, should I measure from the CU end by disconnecting the line and neutral from the breaker (practicing safe isolation obviously) and measure from there

Thanks for any help.

Hi D2E,

I would disconnect the particular circuit from the c/u, connect phase and CPC in a connector block, Null your test leads, go to hob connections (L-N-E) and test between L-E) Or Live and metal casing of Hob. With the Hob isolator on of course.

Hope this helps.

Hi D2E,

Yes you could do that although when testing r1 r2 of a circuit the r1 r2 of the apliance should not be taken into account. Therefore you should realy disconnect the cable from the cooker altogether and then test.
