Is it possible to measure the resistance of the elements inside a dimplex storage heater without removing the bricks, by measuring the resistance at each connector block that the elements connect into? And what readings would be expected?

Yes, it's the normal way to test if an element has gone. Following on from above posts, a 1kw element should give you around 53 ohms resi.
