G

Greenday

I did as many advised on here and wrote to my MP Dan Boyle. He promptly replied and has set up a meeting with Greg Barker which he, myself and another constituent will attend.

It is scheduled for December 1st.

If any here want to contribute just forward your concerns and comments regarding Renewables in general and I will endevour to get answers!

Demand copies of the figures used to justify the fit cut to be published, and also ask for more flexibility within the EPC scheeme, such as lowering the criterea to E/D.
Also it would be interesting to know if they ever considered the feasability of lowering the FIT to say 31p and taking a surcharge of 2p off of each unit generated (a sort of tax) which could have been used to set up grants/subs for helping lower income famillies gain more access to renewable tech

Comprehensive Review Phase 1: Consultation on Feed-in Tariffs for solar PV - Department of Energy and Climate Change download the upadtes to fits model at bottom of page check out page 9 for forcast future installations then page 13 for return assumptions if you highlight all the references at the bottom of page 13 you will see how incredulous the document is they are using onld fit rates US pensions data an inflation rate of 2.7% and calculating tax free returns rate only for 40% rate taxpayers
UK-London: refinements and updates to the feed in tariffs (FITs) model this was the tender app for the doc how much did he pay for it ? the man is a wind freak so carefull if the subject is broached sun is more reliable than wind but wind produces at correct time of year if your lucky we get windless days in winter but never sunless and sun fits in better with local generation , a record the man on your iphone so we can all have a listen

Ask him exactly how he came to the conclusion that the drop couldn't wait until April when the whole industry was geared up to it?
Ask him how he feels about the lay-offs and redundancies that will occur as installers get rid of staff while they wait to see how quickly the market recovers?
Ask him if he knows that wholesalers have terminated credit for solar PV installers anticipating that 50% will be closed by Christmas?
Ask him why he is so concerned if a few householders (in the bigger picture, a very small number indeed) make a greater return on investment than he planned? After all he is a bloody tory and making people rich for sitting on their arse is the tory ideal !
Ask him how a consultation can take place after the event? in fact, ask him that one again and again until he damned well answers.
Ask him if he realises what damage he has done to the consumer's trust in the renewable energy incentives across the board?
Ask him if he has any comprehension of the damage he has done to this fledgling and critical industry?
Ask him if what he has done is just a simple case of a junior minister meddling in an attempt to make a name for himself?
Ask him how long he expects to keep his job, tell him that I bet he's not there next April...----er!

My MP has sent me a couple of letters on posh paper in response to my emails, she said she will write to gregory and enclose my correspondance. I am not holding my breath!

I want to know if the ****** did any proper research into the implications of 6 weeks notice, other that shambolic PWC report.

Ask him to bend over, then insert your unberella up his backside, open it, then attempt to remove it again whilst repeating the mantra 'this is from the solar industry you txxxxx

Nearly two weeks now, no reply apart from to say he will reply sometime. So I sent another letter sent last night to add to his collection.

I would want him to answer a very simple quesion- did he have any inkling as to the impact of his decision in the short term? And by short term I mean of course the time before the consultation has even finished.
Did it occur to him that there might be an absolutely crazy rush as people scramble to get installations completed- people that had already booked, not new ones. That Suppliers would be putting up signs on their websites saying "closed until further notice-no stock left" That installers would be working every hour they can to avoid letting people down who had signed contracts.
That basically there would be carnage for a month?

If he didnt forsee this situation- why not? I am fairly sure it would have occurred to every one here and indeed anyone interested in solar (or just with a functioning brain)
If he did- does he care?

Thats on top of the questions raised about the future of the industry already mentioned.

Anything interesting come out of this meeting? If it's the one that SPP are reporting on it sounds as if the deal is done. He's suddenly powerless to stop it...

"However, Solar Power Portal understands while the Minister was keen to listen to the industry’s complaints on this matter at the meeting, he argued that he cannot legally change the proposals until the official consultation exercise is complete – despite this date being weeks after the deadline has passed. Our source at this morning’s meeting said Barker insisted that there was nothing that he could do, even if he wanted to."

thats crap, how can you have an irreversable decision before the consultation period has finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask him why he did not consider curtailing the rent a roof schemes as they were not an anticipated drain on FIT funds.
