I've heard from a couple of people the 1700 range is not as good as it should be. Main problem with the no trip loop testing tripping ADS. Apparently there is a firmware update out but is not being provided free of charge!!!

My Megger 1553 is not very well does anyone have any feedback on the new 1720?
my wholesaler had a calibration day yesterday. the guy says if you send or take the megger to their base
( stoke-on-trent), they'll give you a quote to repair. can't give you their details until my cal.cert. comes in the post.

if your 1553 is repairable at a sensible cost, get it done. can't beat the model even with the 1700 series.

agreed.

Had mine 5 years and it's had a tough 5 years, never skipped a beat, always gone through calibration fine

considering getting my 1552 fixed. it's spot on on all except continuity, but, then again , i've got a bm400 series cont/ins. that's calibrated and doesn't eat batteries like the 1552.
