Hello All

Ive rang up a local electrical wholesales for a MEM Type c 40A 3mA RCBO they sent over a picture of a 40A MCB with a bottom piece to connect in the MCB to make the RCBO. Has anynoe ever used these? normally ive used the Merlin Gerin. The RCBO is to replace a 40A mcb supplying a shower in a commerical building. Also when i come to test the tripping times where is this best down at the dis board onto the RCBO terminal. Iam using a Megger 1552 tester with the 3 lead options. Normally i use the plug adaptor to test sockets on an RCD cct. But where i work in commerical buildings we tend not to use RCD as much as domestics.

Thanks

James

Thanks

Lenny for the link sounds like i have to conect 3 wires one to the functional earth one to the neutral from the rcbo and another from the llive term of the rcbo then connect my tester to these and test. Is that correct or iam i wrong?

According to MEM technical I just had to connect a few inches of cable to the out going L and N terminals of the RCBO. The earth clip on your meter would just need to go to the earth bar of the consumer unit where your functional earth will already be connected. As for RCBO pods for MEM, they will fit Memera 2000 units and Memshield 2 units as far as I'm aware. Don't expect to get a lot of change from £70 though as the pods are dear as f***!

The functional earth will be conneted to the MET and RCBO on the din rail outgoing neutral are you talking about the pigtail neutral from the rcbo. test between that and the outgoing live. because you dont actually test the cct the rcbo is protecting just test the rcbo itself.

Thanks for ya help on this one lads
